COMMUNITY BRIDGE CLUB - BATEAU BAY

WELCOME TO COMMUNITY BRIDGE CLUB

Last weekend 4 of our members competed in the Newcastle Bridge Club congress. Congratulations to Elaine and Peter Hume, who teamed up with Margaret Regan and Bev Sivewright finishing 4th in the restricted teams event. Elaine and Peter also played in the restricted pairs event winning 2 matches and drawing 2. Well done.

Every Friday morning (except Public Holidays) we play a happy, relaxed session at The Entrance Leagues Club, 3 Bay Village Road, Bateau Bay. After the session many of our Members enjoy a social chat over a coffee or lunch at Tigers. Visitors are always very welcome. You will be assured of a game, as no one is turned away.

PARTNER ARRANGEMENT:- if you are looking for a partner,Kevin is till the person to phone 4332 5843 . It is easier for Kevin if you can phone by Thursday night. If you get a late cancellation from your regular partner on Friday morning you can phone Kevin up to 8 o'clock or come to the club by 9.15 am.

Both ABF & NSWBA are stressing the importance of correct conduct at the Bridge table. We don't seem to have any problems at our sessions, but to remind our Members, a summary is available for you to read in "about us" - "documents". If you need a blank "system card" you can print one from our website also in "documents" OR SEE MARGARET REAGAN or any Committee Member for assistance.

Our Club, named Community Bridge Club, was established in March, 1983 in the CWA Hall at Long Jetty. In 1984 we moved to larger premises at Shelly Beach Surf Club. In 1987 we were invited by CCBC to move into their newly purchased premises at Long Jetty. Our club quickly became known as "the Friday Club" and attracted many new members. After 25 years playing at Long Jetty, we were given notice to vacate those premises. Our Committee inspected many locations, until we found the ideal venue at The Entrance Leagues Club (Tigers), 3 Bay Village Road, Bateau Bay.

All bus routes in the area service the Bateau Bay Square shopping complex, and our Club is only a short walk from the bus. Tigers has disabled access and plenty of parking is available in their car park.
