Kevin Hughes †– 2004
Kevin retired from work to live on the Central Coat in 1985. He, with his wife Dorothy, decided to learn the game of bridge, under the instruction of Philippa Roache, the then President of the Community Bridge Club. In 1992, with Philippa’s blessing, Kevin became President and remained so until 2015. Kevin died in July 2019. Kevin gave the Club it’s culture – warm and friendly. He was a great man of principle and service.
Dorothy Hughes – 2004
Alongside Kevin, Dorothy served on Committee, and proved to be an excellent organiser. She rarely sat still. She was always involved with setting up and cleaning up after morning tea. Like Kevin, she was committed to service, and inclusiveness. Dorothy is rarely seen at the Club these days and is much missed, as is Kevin.
Nancy Bradbury †– 2004
Nancy was given life membership after years of dedicated service to the Club. Nancy was a Director at the club for many years and manually scored up after sessions. She loved her bridge and enjoyed Christmas concerts.
David Steel – 2004
David was a long-term serving member on Committee where he was noted for his expertise. David re-located interstate some years ago.
June Post – 2013
June is our longest serving member on Committee. She has long held the role of Welfare Secretary. Her caring nature was evident by how she maintained contact with all our members. Her positive personality touched all our membership.
Bev Sivewright – 2019
Bev joined the Club in 2003 and has been on Committee for many years. She has held the roles of Masterpoint Secretary and President. She is always there to lend a hand, and for many years has been involved in the setting up and manually scoring sessions with Molly O’Neill. She is a stalwart of the Club.
Pam Townsend – 2019
Pam was recognised for her contributions to the Club. She was on Committee for a number of years and demonstrated great organisational abilities and bridge administrative capacities.
Molly O'Neill †– 2019
Molly was a long-term member of the Club. and served on Committee for many years. She has filled the role of Secretary and Vice-President and, along with Bev, spent many a Friday afternoon Manually scoring up the morning session of bridge. Molly was a larger-than- life character of the Club who was renowned for her sense of humour. Molly died in October 2019 and is greatly missed.
Pam Graham †– 2019
Pam is a long-term member of the Club who also served on Committee for many years. For several years, she fulfilled to role on Treasurer very successfully. Her loss was felt by the Club when she moved to Richmond in 2018. She remains a much-loved member of the Club.
